Verification

...

Verification

  • Accept reviews of purchased items only
You can decide to give points for reviews that are written by customers who actually purchased the item

...

Antavo’s mechanism works in a way that if a review event is sent through our API, the log gets checked whether the customer purchased the item. This means that Antavo is not able to reward reviews written about an item that a customer had purchased before the launch of the loyalty program.

If the verification is enabled, Antavo is not able to store any information about unverified reviews.

Best practices

  • You can choose to reward customer reviews only after admin approval of each review. All you have to do is send the review event to Antavo once the review has been approved.

  • If you have the verification turned on, you should inform customers about the requirement of purchasing the product in the description.
If this option is enabled, the customer’s transaction history gets checked when the review_submit event is sent and the event is rejected if the ID of the reviewed product cannot be found in the logs.

  • Accepting multiple reviews per item with 0 point
If this option is enabled, the review_submitevent of an item that has already been reviewed previously will be registered if the point value of the event is 0.
The default status of this checkbox is enabled. Uncheck this functionality, if you don’t want any review of an item that has been reviewed being registered, even if its point value is 0.

Note

Keep in mind that multiple reviews per item greater with 0 points are never allowed regardless of this functionality being enabled or disabled.

...

Note, that if a review_submit event is rejected, Antavo will not store any information about the review.
